For all Stardew Valley fans who play the sport with mods, you’re in luck, because most mods should work with the 1.6 update on launch. ConcernedApe confirmed this himself on Twitter/X.
Stardew Valley 1.6 on launch will work with many mods
On the day before Stardew Valley has its long-awaited 1.6 update, ConcernedApe announced that the majority of your mods should work with the sport on launch. This was just revealed in a post on Twitter/X with a link to a big list of mods and their compatibility with 1.6.
While most modders should wait until a latest patch releases to update their mod and make it work, ConcernedApe seems to have an ideal relationship with the modding community. It’s nice to see a developer care about players who prefer to play with mods since they’d’ve otherwise not been in a position to touch 1.6 until all their mods got an update.
Although he recommends players check out 1.6 without mods, the list of compatible mods is kind of expansive. It includes an inventory of what looks to be a couple of 100 mods, a ton of them confirming to work with 1.6. If you play with mods, take a look at the SMAPI.io mod compatibility list and see in case your mods will work with 1.6.
Just bear in mind that if the mod has “SDV 1.6 only” written on it, which means it’s for the beta version and never the stable version most players have. Make sure to read every part under the “compatibility” column to totally understand in case your mods will work with 1.6.
ConcernedApe has also been using his Twitter/X account to post one sneak peek of the update every single day, so take a take a look at his latest posts for hints about what’s to come back. For example, he has already confirmed a latest farm type called the “Meadowlands Farm” and the power to drink mayonnaise. This may make you inclined to start out a latest world for 1.6.
