For years, possibly even many years, the assumption that dating is not biblical has been taught for a lot of reasons. One reason being that dating is strongly related to pre-marital sex, and fornication is a sin. Also, many believers are taught to interact in courtships. Courtships include different stages of attending to know someone with the intention of getting married. However, to achieve the courtship stage, you have to spend time with the person you might be involved with. What other way do you get to know someone you are romantically drawn to and fascinated with than up to now them? The notion of dating being unbiblical is one which’s been taught and learned because dating is taken into account an activity of the world, and it is just not present in the Bible. However, the thought of courtships is not present in the Bible either. So, with this news, what does a believer with a romantic interest in someone do? How do believers get to know someone they’re fascinated with without stepping outside of the realms of the Bible? The answer is straightforward, pray and ask God what steps to take to get to know someone you might be fascinated with and follow His guidance. Interaction with believers, humans, is natural. In fact, believers need one another to survive. How we interact with one another determines what relationships are developed. Asking God for guidance with everyone we encounter will help believers remain on the best path while meeting and interesting with the best and mistaken people.
