Why does the DCEU keep striking out? DC fans have some ideas.
Over the last decade, comic book movies have taken Hollywood by storm. Franchise movies are the cinematic standard (and most-likely recipients of box office triumph), however the DC Extended Universe has did not garner the identical critical and box office success as its Marvel counterpart (the Marvel Cinematic Universe). While some DC movies boast strong ticket sales, they face critical condemnation. Other DCEU movies, just like the recent Blue Beetle — which currently boasts a solid 76% critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes — receive critical praise but fail to get butts in seats. So, fans have taken to Twitter to debate (and check out to elucidate) the franchise’s past and current failings.
DC fans must step up and support recent movies
There’s a DC movie coming out this Friday and real DC fans are crying on Twitter about Superman killing Zod and why didn’t he let Zod murder hundreds of thousands of innocent people. And they wonder why DCEU movies are flopping one after one other😭 pic.twitter.com/ldC99ZOU7U

Does the DCEU need Zack Snyder to return back?
DCeu movies are succeeding critically now, getting 90+ rankings but struggling to even break even on the box office. On the opposite hand, critics hated the SnyderVerse but none of those movies were a failure.
Yes, DC needs the hype man aka Zack Snyder back. pic.twitter.com/MWRvBlsumd

If the Warner Bros had not destroyed it’s own probabilities at success, the DCEU would have been the best live motion cinematic universe ever. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse @wbd pic.twitter.com/4oHEO0rz3I

People blame Snyder for the DCEU’s failure; Is it his fault?
“The DCEU failing is Snyder’s fault” grossly and INTENTIONALLY overlooks the indisputable fact that if that were true, it will have long since recovered and prospered since his departure.
The DCEU failed since it was never nearly as good as when Snyder was on the helm. https://t.co/NuGqXY7EbJ

Yes, blame Snyder for the actual fact they’ve only been capable of top his DCEU box office once and every time have had diminishing returns on Snyderless movies despite quite a few “course corrections” during the last 7 years. Yep, definitely Snyder’s fault. https://t.co/aiAevle4se pic.twitter.com/YUH902WB51

TBH, Man Of Steel was a really decent (Decent doesn’t = Perfect Masterpeice) movie (ON IT’S OWN) but BvS and the DCEU afterwards just went down the flusher… I’m sorry but Zack Snyder doesn’t understand DC or it’s characters https://t.co/LSOWRKVCWb pic.twitter.com/bgT6eip7Eg

DC movies got lighter, sacrificing their original dark flair in the method
Erm, people liked the DCEU until after Aquaman. They then began to understand that the tone of the flicks were changing (to be lighter & comedic), which they clearly weren’t concerned with.
Hence the primary 6 movies being in the highest ten highest grossing DC movies. pic.twitter.com/AfSpasl8rb— Stanley Ipkiss (@restoreZSJL) August 19, 2023
Maybe the paranormal was the solution to go
The DCEU should’ve kept going with the mythical approach. pic.twitter.com/XxxjWxDxDU

Can James Gunn turn the ship around?
Do you guys think James Gunn DCEU will probably be higher than Snyderverse? pic.twitter.com/Yp7EBIQtkp

Stop comparing DC movies to Marvel ones
We as DC fans must get out of this mindset of needing to match to the MCU. That thought process is what sunk the DCEU in the primary place. https://t.co/Ul1LmAZLCj

Did DC begin to copy Marvel, destroying its probabilities at individual success?
It’s refreshing to see a author still care if the humor suits the characters. The MCU has spread this horrible imagine that it doesn’t matter so long as you make the audience laugh. It results in bad writing.
Then the DCEU copied it and ruined movies like The Flash.#indiecomics https://t.co/KKUJIDXlmr— Pepe Lacroix (@LacroixPepe) August 21, 2023
