The hilarious promotion quickly turned brutal on Friday after MMA fighter Conor McGregor unintentionally knocked out Miami Heat mascot “Burnie” during game 4 of the NBA Finals and sent him to the hospital.
In what was presupposed to be a staged altercation between the 2 to advertise TIDL’s pain spray, McGregor punched Burnie throughout the third-quarter time-out after which sprayed him with the product to ease the “pain”.
McGregor, nonetheless, hit the mascot a little bit too hard (and greater than once) – far beyond the purpose where TIDL was capable of do anything.
McGregor punched the mascot a second time within the chest, and Burnie needed to be pulled away by security and medical personnel after hitting the bottom.
Several videos on social media show a pointy blow from McGregor and Burnie’s subsequent departure from the sport.

TIDL is a plant-based McGregor topical spray that’s designed to offer quick pain relief with its cooling technology.
Athletic reported that the person within the mascot costume was given painkillers on the hospital before being released and was “feeling high quality.”
“We’re talking Miami Heat endurance,” says Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra he told reporters postgame in regards to the Burnie incident. “He must have had permission to perform the primary coup. We won’t reveal who it’s, but he’s tough. Take the blow and are available back. Yes, he won’t miss a moment.”
The Heat will face the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday. The Nuggets lead the series 3-1.
