This sweet, sweet fantasy home has sold – albeit well below its asking price and for around $1.35 million lower than what its A-list owner bought it for in 2021.
Pop icon Mariah Carey, 54, unloaded her peach from a Georgia property on the last day of May, nearly 10 months after it was placed on display, Wall Street Journal first reported.
After surviving much of the pandemic within the nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom giant, the All I Want For Christmas songbird launched last September for an initial asking price of $6.5 million.
At the time of the sale, that had fallen by just over $1.5 million to $4.99 million.
In the tip, the stately mansion closed for $4.3 million, $600,000 lower than the ultimate bid.
Carey bought it for $5.65 million.
The house was sold to Michael Dickey, CEO of Modern Luxury Media, who plans to make the gated, 4-hectare community his family’s primary residence.
“Home sold to an area family who know the way special the property is and are looking forward to having fun with all its amenities for years to return,” said Shanna Bradley of Ansley Real Estate, a subsidiary of Christie’s International Real Estate in Atlanta, who represented the vendor . “Both Mrs. Carey and the buyers are more than happy with the end result of this sale.”
In total, the headquarters is over 12,500 square feet and features a heated swimming pool, pool house, entertainment pavilion, three-car garage, tennis courts and “a stunning series of gardens,” as previously reported by The Post.
The interior of the foremost constructing includes an exercise room with a mirror wall, a house theater, a guest suite, a lounge with a hearth, and a small recording booth on the third floor.
The foremost suite also has a hearth, in addition to a walk-in closet, an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet.
