Flexible survival plans are flexible survival plans.
Because there are some disasters when staying at home becomes more of a threat than going out.
But some people have to hear ALL the most effective reasons to back off.
So in today’s video, my goal is to persuade you of that ALL must have a bug bag:
↓ 7 the explanation why EVERYONE needs a bug bag ↓
Now I mainly talk over with those individuals who DO NOT still have a garbage bag… People who say:
“Come to hell or high water, there isn’t any way I’m leaving home.”
But that is not smart.
Being so black and white about your survival plans is amazingly dangerous.
You will need to have built-in flexibility.
Ok, so let’s get to the 7 the explanation why I believe ALL must have a bug-out bag.
1. Escape from fires
I often hear people say
“I never idiot around. There isn’t any disaster that may force me to depart my home and my supplies.”
My answer to the query is:
“Oh yeah, even when your home was directly in the trail of a fast-moving fire”?
Every 12 months, people decide to take shelter of their homes, even after an evacuation order has been issued as a result of a hearth.
And sometimes they pay the last word price.
For example:
An elderly couple of their eighties they selected to remain though they were directly on the trail of the East Troublesome Fire near Grand Lake Colorado.
According to a family statement after the very fact, the couple considered their property “heaven on earth”.
They also said that “they were of their basement and felt protected.”
They were later found burned alive.
It’s so sad and unnecessary!

That’s why we buy home insurance, that is why we have now contingency plans, and that is why you would like an emergency bag.
Just having a garbage bag gives you peace of mind and adaptability.
And even in case you don’t live out west, or you’re thinking that there could also be a hearth where you reside, what if the home next to yours catches fire?
What if lightning strikes your home and it catches fire?
If you set your garbage bag on the predominant exit, likelihood is you will have the option to grab a bag of your STUFFs in your technique to the door…
So fires are the predominant reason to sign off.
And why everyone must have a garbage bag, able to use at any time.
2. Escape from flood waters
Another reason I believe EVERYONE must have a bug bag is due to flash floods.
Flash floods are very dangerous; they might be deadly if your home is on a path.
For example, a flood as a result of Hurricane Harvey in 2017 killed greater than 100 people.
The Houston Metro area received over 40 inches of rain in 4 days.
The flood also inundated tons of of 1000’s of homes, displaced greater than 30,000 people, and prompted greater than 17,000 rescues.
I wish these people had a bug bag ready.
The Bug Bag helps you realize that sometimes your private home might be in peril.
In times like these, you will need to leave your private home to avoid wasting yourself.
Flash flood is NO JOKE.
This almost all the time surprises people.
So it’s good to prepare yourself by preparing a bug bag Escape the danger zone QUICKLY.

3. Escape from the tsunami
Another reason to sign off is in case you live near the coast.
If you do, there’s all the time a slight likelihood that an offshore earthquake will trigger an enormous tsunami.
The strength and speed of the worst tsunami are beyond comprehension.
↓ How do giant tsunamis work? ↓
And in case you don’t leave IMMEDIATELY and get to the rise, the oncoming wall of water can overtake you easily.
And in case you don’t live in a coastal region, perhaps you visit it on occasion?
You should all the time have an Everyday Carry/Bug Out bag with you.
And in case you survive a tsunami, chances are you’ll be stuck in a really desolate region for days or perhaps weeks.
It can disrupt power, food, electricity, etc.
That’s why it’s smart to have a bag YOUR STUFFin case you ever end up within the aftermath of such a disaster.
4. Escape from hurricanes
Bug-out bags are typically considered “fast” grab and go bags when danger moves FAST and each second counts…
But sometimes the danger is slow and you will have weeks or days to see the writing on the wall.
This is the case with most hurricanes.
In modern societies, hurricanes don’t surprise us the way in which wildfires or flash floods do.
Sure, a hurricane can intensify on the last minute or change its course unexpectedly, but most individuals know they’re in peril long before they reach shore.
However, while other persons are packing their bags and attempting to determine what they need to take with them in a chaotic, disorganized way, you Your garbage bag is already hanging on the wall.
Now you may also decide to take just a few MORE items (because you may have just a little more time).
But you understand, for FACT, your garbage bags covered your basic survival and prepper supplies.
If you find yourself in a shelter, an out-of-state hotel, or a friend’s house to weather the storm, you should have a bag of YOUR THINGS.
You can have a sleeping pad, some extra food, some playing cards, extra socks and underwear, your individual crank radio, etc.
The point is:
Thanks to the bug bag, you won’t helplessly depend on others to guard you, inform you, feed you or dress you …
5. Long-term power outages
Most power outages are short-lived, lasting only just a few hours or days.
But sometimes they will turn into even longer events.
- What happens if the facility grid is out for even longer?
- What if there’s an influence outage with freezing temperatures for a lot of days?
You might have to hunt shelter or visit a friend…
Now I try to not predict the long run.
I do not waste time on end-of-the-world scenarios or end-of-the-world predictions.
Instead, I deal with being more resilient no matter failure.
But I also realize massive EMP from a nuclear explosion or a solar flare from the sun COULD theoretically knock out power grids and electrical components.
Now if you may have a backup generator and/or alternative heat source (wood stoves, kerosene heaters) etc., it is feasible that you could survive any power outage in your private home.
But for many who NO have resources or supplies on site, it’s best to depart the blackout zone until power is restored.
Your garbage bag can be considered one of the primary belongings you would throw within the trunk once you leave the home.
6. Riots, civil unrest or war
I do know this seems far-fetched to most Americans, but political tensions within the US (and all over the world) should not funny.
Lately there have been increasingly more violent clashes between groups of individuals.
These protests and counter-protests led to riots, anarchy and arson.
Even small towns and suburbs will not be protected if all-out civil war breaks out.
And in case you live elsewhere on the planet, these riots and wars may already be a day by day occurrence.
So in case you prefer NO take part in these events and avoid becoming an innocent victim of madness, it’s price escaping from the danger zone until the situation calms down.
Because these kinds of conflicts can escalate QUICK without prior warning.
And if your private home is near the worst scene of violence, chances are you’ll have to grab a garbage bag, hit the road, and watch the news from a protected distance.
Of course, looting and arson are legitimate concerns.
But keep good records and have good home insurance as a substitute of staying on a path of destruction and risking your life unnecessarily.
7. Daily/home carry bag
Disasters won’t strike when it’s most convenient for you.
Something can occur if you are away from home or on vacation.
That’s why I prefer to keep my trash bag extra light and use it as an EDC bag (Everyday carry bag) and my “Get Home” bag.
So, in case you can keep an additional light trash bag, you possibly can try this as well.
You don’t need 50 or 60 kilos. running.
Instead, try to take care of a weight of 20 or 25 kilos.
This way, you will feel more comfortable taking a bug bag with you each time you permit the home.
I prefer to know that I actually have basic medical supplies, a water filter, some pepper spray, a small sleeping pad, some playing cards, some food, etc. ALWAYS.
