If there’s one company that has popularized AI over the past 12 months, it is the small but heavily funded startup OpenAI, the entity behind the viral chatbot ChatGPT.
This week on the Build developer conference, Microsoft made extensive use of his collaboration with a startup wherein he had invested billions.
The essential topic on Tuesday, the primary day of the show, was an on-stage conversation between Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, and Kevin Scott, Microsoft’s head of technology and the person credited with constructing the extremely close relationship between the 2 firms.

At the identical time, Nadella pressured Microsoft to incorporate GPT-4 directly into Teams and older Microsoft products akin to Bing search, which regularly led to bots called Copilot. Brockman hinted to developers that the price of GPT-4, which runs on Azure, could come down.
“I believe we cut the value by 70% two years ago,” he told Scott. “We mainly cut costs by 90% last 12 months. A ten-fold reduction in costs – it’s crazy, right? And I believe we are going to have the option to do the identical again and again with recent models. And so GPT-4 is pricey in the meanwhile, it shouldn’t be fully available.
