The market could also be as quiet as a mouse, but a mouse roared on the 127th Annual New York City Real Estate Council Awards Gala held on the Glasshouse event space on Thursday night.
Unlike last 12 months’s gala, when guests complained that the brand new walk-in format resembled a routine cocktail party, the table seating – and the sometimes raucous soundtrack that included rap music – brought back the excitement.
Mayor Eric Adams joined over 1,000 real estate luminaries for the schmooze-fest, which featured a two-course dinner prepared by Gramercy Tavern chefs Michael Anthony and Daniel Boulud.
The windows and terrace of the Glasshouse ignored the REBNY red lights atop the tower of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center. Those honored on the evening included Newmark CEO Barry Gosin, CBRE’s Tri-State CEO Mary Ann Tighe, and Cushman & Wakefield’s Tri-State Chairman John C. Santora.
Part of the proceeds will go to the REBNY Foundation, which supports and funds social initiatives in New York.
