Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai received total compensation of $226 million in 2022, most of which got here from stock awards, in response to the securities report the corporate filed on Friday.
Pichai received $218 million in stock last yr in a three-year stock grant. His annual salary was $2 million from 2020 to 2022. The CEO’s compensation package also included nearly $6 million in personal protection in 2022.
Other Alphabet and Google chief executives earned an estimated $22 million to $35 million in annual stock awards, in response to records.
The report comes as Alphabet is initiating cost restructuring measures, including layoffs in January that eliminated 12,000 employees, or 6% of the workforce. Google’s chief financial officer Ruth Porat announced in early April that the corporate would cut spending on laptops and worker services to further cut costs.
