The prolific mom went viral on TikTok after seeing the within the New York brownstone constructing she shares together with her husband — and their ten children.
Amber de la Motte, who uses the handle @TheHappyCaravan, has amassed over 5.7 million views and counting, sharing the complex bedroom layouts of her home on the highest three floors of a townhouse.
“How we sleep as a family of 12 in our NYC apartment,” de la Motte signed the clipthrough which he visits the maze of bedrooms in his duplex, waving to his children and spouse as they lie of their beds.
In bedroom primary, “where the large boys sleep”, her eldest sons Elijah and Josiah share a bunk bed; in bedroom two, “where the little girls sleep”, her young daughters Melody, Anna and Chloe share a bunk bed and a single bed.
In the third bedroom, Enoch and Noah share a fold-out bunk bed built right into a Murphy-style wall; the fourth bedroom has the “big girls” – Pearl and Naomi – on bunk beds, and the fifth bedroom is for Mummy and Daddy Marc, with baby Moses sleeping on the foot of the bed.
Lego also has its own bedroom, which also serves as an exercise room for very musical offspring.
Cost?
De la Motte revealed within the comments that the property initially ran her and her husband at $4,900 a month – but has since increased to $9,800.
“That’s quite a record on this city,” noted the mother of “ten children of string virtuosos who were homeschooled.” as Gawker once described a nuclear crew.
Their neighborhood situation is not the family’s first unique living situation: Before moving to the Big Apple, they made it work in a two-bedroom apartment in San Francisco, then piled into an airstream trailer and drove to the east coast, so the three of them tykes can go to Julliard.
