Are you a young grandpa? Here are 5 ways it will possibly be a blessing

Being a grandparent is a milestone event that brings many blessings. However, while you end up relatively young on this role, you could wonder should you’re ready for the responsibility.

My husband and I became grandparents on the age of 41 – we never expected it. Various doubts appeared in our heads, because there have been still babies in the home and we didn’t know what was expected of us.

However, our doubts flew out the window with one take a look at our newborn grandson. The blessing we held in our arms gave us perspective and set us on a God-given purpose. Eleven years have passed since that day, and now we see God turning our fears into one among the best blessings this side of heaven.

If you are a young grandparent, here’s why it will possibly be a blessing:

1. You have the energy to maintain up with them

Recently I used to be running with my grandchildren once they were riding scooters. My eldest grandson said, “Wow, Nana, I am unable to imagine you possibly can run!” His comment made me laugh, and I thank God I had the energy to maintain up with them. These sorts of blessings make me realize how wonderful it’s to be a young grandpa.

While our grandchildren will tire us occasionally, we are able to do plenty of things to remain energetic and sustain. Here are some actions to think about:

– Hiking, cycling or swimming

-Camping or nature walks

-Playing basketball

-Play tennis

-Playing ping-pong

Not only can we engage in physical activities with our grandchildren, but we may benefit from the things they’re involved in, corresponding to sports, music, arts, 4-H, and other school clubs. Being a young grandparent gives us the energy we must be energetic with our grandchildren and revel in every minute.

2. You can sustain with trends

With today’s technology, grandparents have to know and take a look at to maintain up with some trends. Note that I actually have listed some trends – because not all of them are useful for our grandchildren or for ourselves.

Whether we’re posting funny TikTok videos or scrolling through silly memes, our grandkids will love to maintain us busy with things that interest them. Here are ways to maintain up with the most recent trends while having a positive impact in your grandchildren:

-Take an interest in fashion trends while encouraging modesty.

-Find out who they follow on social media and advise them to watch out.

-Watch videos which are each fun and pure.

-Listen to the music they like by declaring questionable lyrics.

-Come to live shows, sporting events and festivals.

Remember which you could play together with your grandchildren and sustain with the most recent trends while maintaining God’s standards. Hopefully, they are going to see your limits and begin asking questions that may result in further Bible-based discussions. Ultimately, we wish to attach with our grandchildren in such a way that they too can be encouraged by our faith.

3. You will see them grow up

As a young grandparent, you will have the advantage of seeing your grandchildren reach essential milestones corresponding to their first steps, first words, and first day of faculty. You can witness their growth and development first-hand and be there to supply support and encouragement as they overcome life’s challenges. And if the Lord willing, you will note your grandchildren grow up, get married, and someday have children of their very own.

Psalm 145:4 says, “Generation to generation commends your works, they tell of your mighty deeds.” And the Psalmist says, v Psalm 71:18“Do not forsake me, O God, until I’m old and grey, until I announce your power to the generations, your power to all who’re to come back.”

Watching our grandchildren grow up is a precious blessing from God. Let us take every opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel and strengthen our relationship with Jesus.

Each passing yr is another excuse to thank God for His care over us and be intentional within the lives of our grandchildren.

4. You may help their parents

We have the chance to support our grandchildren and assist their parents on this journey called “parenting.” As everyone knows, parenting isn’t for the faint hearted; Sometimes our children just need a break. Young grandparents allow us to step in when needed and offer all the assistance we are able to.

– Babysitting / Overnight grandchildren

-Providing meals / Cleaning the home

-Employments

– Offering the listening ear

– Living together

I feel it’s God’s intention for families to support one another and be available. When we turn out to be grandparents at a young age, now we have much more opportunities to assist our kids grow up and fulfill God’s plan. What a blessing to have the energy and resources to have the option to help our kids of their parenting our grandchildren!

5. You may have a few years to share Jesus with them

Sharing Jesus with our grandchildren is crucial thing we are able to do, and being a young grandparent gives us a number of extra years to speak concerning the Savior and set an example. Our biggest hope is that every one our grandchildren will come to know the Lord as their personal Savior, and we may have the chance to plant the seeds and water them as they grow.

As a young mother, I rarely felt like I had time to stop what I used to be doing and devote my undivided attention to my children. But as a grandfather, I would like each of my grandchildren to know that I’m here to listen and encourage them.

Intending to pass on my faith, I pray for God-given opportunities to share Jesus and point my grandchildren to the Savior. I feel that is my primary role as a grandfather and I hope to live long enough to see its fruits.

Despite my unpreparedness becoming a grandparent early in life, I spotted that it was at all times a part of God’s plan. Having grandchildren is an abundant blessing, and eagerly accepting our role with purpose and charm is an honor and a privilege.
