As soon as I watched it The Sims 4 Game Trailer, a smile appeared on my face once I saw the Michaelsons, the Black family, who were wearing recent haircuts. The 4 family members are ready-made characters that exist in the sport. Celeste, a mother of two, had her braids in a top knot with baby hair that lay higher than mine, even on a great day. Her husband, Christopher, had a brief, curly haircut.
Atlas, Celeste and Christopher’s son, had a “men’s box braids” style that features several shoulder braids – considered one of Redway’s favorite styles since it reminds her of her own son. (Little Orion Michaelson wasn’t wearing any of the brand new styles.) There’s also a glimpse of what’s presumably Celeste’s mother, with natural shoulder-length curls and a colourful headband. The last of the five recent styles, a two-ply beaded braid on either side, is not featured within the trailer, but you’ll be able to test it out below.
It took a yr to develop these hairstyles, and the collaboration began in February 2022. During this time, Redway repeatedly provided feedback and reference photos to EA, the corporate that produces The Sims series. “I feel bad because sometimes I send back so many rounds of feedback on specific styles or go into great detail in regards to the hairlines and the way the hair grows out of the pinnacle or how the braid comes out of the scalp,” she says.
