On February 28, we got our first glimpse Yara Shahidi as a Tinker Bell for a couple of seconds in harbinger for the upcoming movie Peter Pan and Wendy. She looked stunning in her smaller fairy form along with her curls styled in a messy bun with a braided crown and flowing baby hair. It’ll be some time before we see more Shahidi bells, so until then we’ll be admiring Barbie’s latest Tinker Bell doll. It was designed to look an identical to the Disney character Shahidi portrayed, with sculpted edges and curls.
Hairdresser Nikki Nels, who did Shahidi’s hair for the film, shared her excitement and peeked at the brand new Barbie doll within the Instagram carousel. “Helping to redefine the look of TINKERBELL with the incredibly talented @yarashahidi was an awesome honor and magical!!!” her signature was read. The Adult the star is smiling with a Tinker Bell doll in her hand in the primary photo. The toy wore Tinker Bell’s signature outfit – a strapless green dress with gold tulle – with glittering pale green wings protruding from her back.
The doll had an enormous curly bun with a braid extending from ear to ear. Mattel didn’t forget so as to add squiggles and loops along the perimeter of the doll’s hairline for the child’s styled hair. Nelms also included close-ups of Shahidi’s hairstyle in order that she may be directly in comparison with the doll’s hairstyle.
