Once the house of modernist artist Georgia O’Keeffe and business magnate Paul Allen, this sprawling estate is on the lookout for a latest owner – for $15 million.
The New Mexico estate offers a complete of 21 bedrooms and 26 bathrooms spread over multiple buildings. It was first listed for $22.6 million in 2021 – and is now available at a big discount.
Located in Santa Fe’s historic Eastside District, this 20-acre complex offers not only a novel brick-built headquarters with a history of famous owners – but in addition extensive landscaped grounds and business space for conferences.
First inbuilt the Nineteen Thirties, Old Santa Fe Trail 4018 – or “Sol Y Sombra”, Spanish for sun and shade – was built for one Doctor and Mrs. Harold Corbusier, but was most famously occupied by iconic landscape painter Georgia O. “Keeffe and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
O’Keeffe, who died in 1986 on the age of 98, lived on the estate until her death, Dirt reported.
After the painter’s death, the estate was sold to a Texas businessman and his wife, who planted a Bodhi tree of their yard from seeds given to them by the Dalai Lama.
Dirt reported that the seeds got here from the tree under which Buddha sat when he attained enlightenment.
Allen, who died in 2018, was the last owner of the address – and it stays one in all the few properties in his extensive profile that has not been sold since.
The Pueblo-style principal constructing has six bedrooms, a library, multiple living and dining areas, and a solarium.
The upper floor is accessible by elevator and the constructing is connected by a covered walkway to the adjoining structure containing a second kitchen, cinema, more bedrooms and a patio.
The property is decorated with 4 fireplaces, including one in the lavatory.
The complex has a conference and event center equipped with a catering kitchen, where there are two guesthouses and an ice rink for guests, in addition to 10 parking spaces in a detached garage.
Elsewhere there’s a wisteria-covered barbecue area, an aspen grove, a rose garden, and a greenhouse with a Bodhi tree.
