Chancellor proclaims help for folks but not enough for low and mid earners

In her first budget, the chancellor announced help for folks, but nothing for low and middle income earners.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has talked loads about what the federal government has achieved while in power. He also remained silent concerning the decisions he needed to make in the autumn when he faced the economic consequences of Kwasi Kwarteng’s policies. Rather, he focused on the prime minister’s five-point plan.

As usual, most of the key announcements have already been leaked, but exceptionally he didn’t hold back on announcing that day. There were no nice surprises, nothing to sweeten the indisputable fact that while help with energy costs is way needed and far appreciated, there was nothing for the hard-working individuals who keep the economy going.

our CEO Jasmine says:

“I liked the best way Jeremy Hunt described the abolition of Lifetime Pension Allowance as helping doctors get back into the NHS. Well, yes, it helps them, but it’s going to even be great for urban types and, frankly, anyone who makes good money. This is a movement to assist wealthy people and there isn’t a guarantee that retired surgeons will return to work due to it.

“Frankly, it might be more helpful to unfreeze personal tax credits and align them with wage increases. It would also help people on lower and middle incomes who should not specifically helped under this budget. If you’ve got school-aged children, you will feel a little bit happier in life, especially if you happen to commute to work by automotive, but those that work long hours and struggle to survive won’t find solace in Hunt’s announcements.

So yes, the rise in support for folks in the shape of big increases in childcare allowances and short-term ongoing help with energy costs is actually good for families. But the way of life continues to fall and in real terms this budget is for the wealthy.
