The Destiny 2 The importance of Lightfall Veil left players scratching their heads to the purpose where even top content creators like Byf had their say within the chaotic campaign narrative that forces players to chase something they do not understand. But apparently addressing player complaints that the dearth of consistency has resulted in a mediocre experience for the FPS’s Lightfall campaign, Bungie is revealing that players will get answers in regards to the importance of the Veil in Destiny 2’s twenty first season, titled Season of the Deep.
In a recent post in the event studio’s This Week at Bungie blog series, blog post author Sam says that the upcoming Season of the Deep quest will allow players to explore Neomuna while teaching them about “the character of the Veil through the study of Osiris.” The quest may even share some “newly discovered” data from the Ishtar Collective and shall be available to all Destiny 2 Lightfall owners, meaning players won’t have to pay for the Season Pass to play it and earn its rewards.
Next task will reward players with three latest Strand Aspects (one per class), that are as follows:
- Titan: Flechette Storm
- Hunter: Threaded Specter
- Warlock: Wanderer
Additionally, the hunt will grant players a latest legendary weapon. It appears to be a hand cannon, although Bungie hasn’t revealed any details in regards to the weapon apart from its concept art.
While Bungie hasn’t explicitly stated so, it appears the choice to disclose information regarding the upcoming questline is meant to appease players who’ve expressed frustration over unanswered questions regarding the meaning of the Veil. Even Byf, who’s referred to by the Destiny 2 community as “Lore Daddy”, posted a video where he shared his frustration that even he doesn’t understand the meaning of the Veil.
The query now is whether or not it won’t be too little, too late for Destiny 2’s dedicated fanbase as Bungie tries to finish loose ends of this disjointed plot.
