At first I used to be concerned that it is likely to be too easy, but I understand it’s higher not to evaluate a game by its tutorial, so I kept playing and got addicted. It is quite addictive grind for gold and various other items to get more crew members and recent pirate ships. The battles definitely get more complex as you progress beyond the initial introductory battles into the sport. Eventually you’ll outnumbered and outgunner and you’ll have to rigorously plan your attacks in addition to watch your individual movementt. There were times once I clearly lost a battle where I outgunned and outnumbered enemy. All because I wasn’t watching my deployment and watched in horror as they managed to attack lots of my ships with just one among their yikes!
The interesting thing I like is the dearth of RNG in combat. There are not any misses or varied damage. You know what you are getting and might plan accordingly. This makes it more of a tactical puzzle game than something like XCOM, which is a welcome change from the standard tactical games I play.
