DR Horton, the nation’s largest home builder, has announced plans to acquire Fayetteville-based Riggins Custom Homes to expand its presence in northwest Arkansas.
DR. Horton agreed to pay roughly $107 million in money to own the Riggins housing assets and link them to the present construction platform in northwest Arkansas. Riggins’ portfolio includes roughly 3,000 lots, 170 homes in inventory, and 173 homes in its sales order book.
Donald R. Horton, chairman of the board, highlighted that Riggins’ “high-quality construction operations and knowledge of the local market” make it an “excellent extension” of DR Horton because it expands its position within the region’s local start-up market.
